Job summary

Ad Astra, Inc. is expanding its network of Haitian Creole interpreters in Michigan for upcoming Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Virtual Interpretation (VI) opportunities.

Selected candidates will have the chance to enter the legal interpreting field and complete a Legal Interpretation Training at no cost as part of onboarding. This freelance/independent contractor role requires Michigan residency and language proficiency.

Qualifications

• Full professional proficiency in English and Haitian Creole.
• Currently located in Michigan.
• Professional interpreting experience preferred.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to provide accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate interpretation.
• Interest in working on legal interpretation assignments.
• Willingness to complete the required FREE Legal Interpretation Training.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide Haitian Creole–English interpretation via Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Virtual Interpretation (VI).
• Deliver accurate, impartial interpretation with cultural sensitivity.
• Participate in the FREE Legal Interpretation Training during onboarding.
• Support clients in legal interpreting assignments as needed.
