Job summary

Northeastern University’s EDGE division is seeking a Graphic Designer/Animator to create innovative educational media content supporting teaching and learning goals of digital learning products. This role is based in Boston with possible remote work and periodic on-campus meetings.

The ideal candidate will craft clear typographic visuals, illustrations, graphics, motion graphics and interactions, collaborating with learning experience designers, video producers and faculty to design scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media/Visual Communications, or related field.
• 3-5 years of professional design experience creating multimedia from concept to production.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; and Premiere Pro and PowerPoint.
• Ability to create visuals and interactive graphics that translate instructional concepts.
• Strong commitment to user-centered design principles, inclusive-design, and ADA compliance.
• Ability to storyboard and present clear ideas that meet project objectives and brand guidelines.
• Ability to take feedback from team members and clients and address concerns.
• Demonstrated flexibility to take on new projects on short notice.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Media Vision & Scoping: Support development of media scope.
• Media Development: Produce media from thumbnailing and storyboarding to production of interactives, graphics, and animation.
• Collaboration: Identify and design the right modality with the team; mentor others as needed.
• Produce reusable media assets for LMS and distribution channels.
• Team Collaboration: Work with design teams and vendors on large-scale digital media projects.
• Address feedback from team members and clients with effective solutions.
