Job summary

Maryland Local Government Impact Hub is seeking an experienced Grant Writer & Development Contractor to build and execute a sustainable funding strategy. The role focuses on identifying grant opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and government agencies, and developing compelling proposals.

Candidates should translate the Hub’s mission into persuasive narratives, manage a grant calendar, and collaborate with leadership.

Qualifications

Significant professional grant-writing and grant-development experience.
Proven record of developing successful competitive grant applications.
Experience with nonprofit organizations, preferably 501(c)(3).
Strong grant prospect-research skills and ability to independently develop a funding pipeline.
Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
Ability to translate complex policy and community issues into compelling proposals.
Strong project-management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

Research foundation, corporate, state, federal, and other grant opportunities aligned with the Hub's mission.
Identify immediate funding opportunities and longer-term prospective funders.
Develop and maintain a prioritized grant prospect list and 12-month funding calendar.
Lead preparation of competitive grant proposals and related funding requests.
Develop narratives communicating organizational need, impact, and sustainability.
