Job summary

IONQ is seeking a Golang Developer for a 6+ month contract. This role is 100% remote (EST preferred) and pays $40/hr W2. You will work on backend services using Go with strong emphasis on AWS, networking, and Kubernetes.

The candidate should have experience shipping scalable production systems and building distributed data pipelines. The project requires hands-on expertise in Go, cloud-native deployments, and observability tooling, with a focus on reliability and performance in a distributed

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience, shipping production services at scale.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Rust with demonstrated production systems.
• Experience building and operating distributed data systems (event streaming, time-series databases, high-throughput ingestion).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts and processing tradeoffs (exactly-once vs at-least-once).
• Experience with cloud-native deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with observability tooling: logging, metrics, tracing (OpenTelemetry).
• Comfort writing SQL and working with relational and time-series data models.
• Strong engineering practices: testing, code review, CI/CD, on-call ownership.
