You will work with cloud-native architectures and guide the development of microservices that support ingestion, transformation, and advanced processing workflows. This role partners with engineering peers to evolve legacy data flows and strengthen observability, logging, and data discoverability.

Qualifications

• Experience with geospatial data processing using PostGIS, CRS, and scientific imagery formats.
• Experience building high-throughput microservices and event-driven pipelines for real-time data.
• Experience tooling for scientific visualization, including real-time imagery rendering.
• Experience architecting concurrent, performance-critical Java/Spring Boot cloud systems.
• Ability to define system architecture, write technical strategies, and present to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to build end-to-end scientific data workflows across microservices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in scalable data ingestion, storage, cataloging, API, and processing capabilities.
• Ensure high-volume, secure, and reliable data pipelines across internal data teams.
• Contribute to modern cloud-based architectures and guide microservice development for ingestion and processing.
• Improve platform observability, metrics, and logging across services.
• Collaborate with engineering peers to evolve legacy data flows into event-driven systems.
• Build/refine API and notification services to streamline data exchange and integration.
• Enhance metadata/catalog systems for better data discoverability and synchronization.
• Support test-driven development, integration testing, and performance validation.
