Job summary

National Power is seeking a Generator Service Technician to maintain and repair generator sets and electrical equipment under the direction of the CISV Service Manager. The position requires travel to job sites, long drives, and possible overnight stays, with company-paid lodging per policy.

Qualified applicants have a HS Diploma, electrical/mechanical background, and Generac certification preferred. Training and safety programs are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to give verbal/written reports of job status, repair recommendations, equipment/supplies needed.
• Must be able to account for time spent on jobs and travel.
• Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have good computer skills and be comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
• Technician may work from home and ensure security of Company property.
• Must be able to respond promptly to customer needs and document interactions.
• Training will be provided; may attend Milwaukee, Wisconsin training and other sessions.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on generators and 5-5000kW sets, including ATS and parallel systems.
• Troubleshoot diesel or gas engines; address ignition and injection components.
• Perform load bank testing to verify proper operation and code compliance.
• Assist other technicians on large multi-person jobs or complex troubleshooting tasks.
