Peraton is seeking a Generative AI Engineering Intern to support internal research and development initiatives in AI/ML-driven platforms. The internship provides meaningful work experience with 40 hours per week during the summer and up to 20 hours during the academic year, focusing on enterprise software development practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program.
• Completion of at least one semester of graduate coursework.
• Strong programming skills in Python and data science libraries.
• Foundational understanding of machine learning and NLP.
• Exposure to large language models (LLMs) is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing generative AI solutions using GPT-4 and Azure OpenAI Service.
• Support prompt engineering efforts to improve LLM output quality.
• Contribute to the implementation of retrieval-augmented generation systems.
• Conduct research on emerging generative AI techniques.
• Assist in building evaluation frameworks for AI-generated content.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies for professional exposure.
