Job summary

EXL is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to own and optimize our data pipelines in a scalable cloud environment. This hands-on role collaborates with Architects, Engineers, and data scientists to support enterprise applications and business goals.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years building ETL/ELT pipelines in GCP, strong Python scripting, and experience with data platforms. Remote US-based applicants encouraged, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building cloud data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• GCP preferred; AWS/Azure ok.
• 5+ years building and operating data processing systems.
• Strong Python scripting.
• 2+ years with NoSQL databases and languages such as Python/R/Scala/Java/Hive/Spark/Kafka.
• 2+ years working with data platforms (DWH/Data Lake/ODS).
• 2+ years with CI/CD automation tools (Jenkins, GIT, Control-M).
• Experience with clinical/healthcare data.
• GCP experience.
• 3+ years healthcare/clinical data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and data engineers on daily tasks.
• Participate in project planning and implementation.
• Coordinate with Data Scientists, Product Managers and leaders to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements for data delivery.
• Build infrastructure for ETL/ELT data from diverse sources using SQL.
• Build analytics tools that provide insights into customer acquisition and efficiency.
• Work with stakeholders across Executives, Product, Data and Design teams to support data infrastructure needs.
• Improve software development processes and prioritize ad-hoc requests.
