Job summary

Orion Groups is seeking a Front-End/ Full-stack Developer to build user interfaces and backend systems powering web apps. Primarily frontend with full-stack capabilities for an enterprise health system, this contract role is fully remote across US time zones.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years frontend and 3+ years backend experience, strong React/Next.js and Node.js skills, and a collaborative mindset. The role offers a 6-month W2 contract with extension and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development.
• 3+ years of experience in back-end development, demonstrating full-stack capabilities.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern front-end JavaScript framework/library (React/Next/Angular/Vue).
• Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 (incl. SASS/LESS or Tailwind/Styled Components).
• Experience with at least one back-end language/framework (NextJS/Node.js Express/NestJS; Python Django/Flask).
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement interactive, responsive web interfaces using modern front-end libraries.
• Develop middleware and connect front-end with back-end using Next.js framework.
• Translate UI/UX designs (Figma) into high-quality code.
• Implement client-side logic, state management, and async operations.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and WCAG adherence.
• Optimize front-end apps for speed and scalability.
• Develop and maintain robust server-side apps and APIs (NextJS/Node.js/Python).
• Design and manage databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL; MongoDB).
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Integrate with external APIs and third-party services.
• Collaborate with product/UX teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to design.
• Write clean, documented code and perform code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex full-stack issues.
• Stay updated with emerging tech to improve processes.
