Job summary

The Lockwood Group is seeking a Freelance Scientific Director responsible for planning, development, and oversight of scientific content across assigned accounts and therapeutic areas. You will partner with the Group Scientific Director to drive strategic medical communications and ensure scientifically rigorous output.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced science degree (PhD/MD/PharmD) with CMPP preferred and at least five years of medical publications experience, including manuscripts and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant job experience with medical publications (manuscripts, posters, abstracts, podium presentations).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with AMA style and ICMJE/GPP2022 guidelines is required.
• Oncology experience preferred (CAR-T and/or Multiple Myeloma).

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and oversee scientific content for assigned accounts across therapeutic areas.
• Lead execution of content development activities and coordinate writing tasks.
• Supervise Associate Scientific Directors and liaise with in-house or freelance staff.
• Conduct background research, data-checking, and reference annotation to ensure accuracy.
