Job summary

Experian is seeking a Data Scientist to build fraud detection models and features that identify high-risk activity while minimizing friction for legitimate customers. You will collaborate with senior data scientists and engineers from problem definition through feature engineering, experimentation, and deployment.

The role emphasizes production-ready code, feature engineering, and staying current with fraud patterns. Remote work is available, with reporting to the Sr. Manager of Fraud Analytics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data science, ML or related field
• Bachelor's or higher in a quantitative discipline
• Direct fraud-detection or adversarial-risk modeling experience
• Proficiency with Python and PySpark in large datasets
• Experience with ML tools like scikit-learn, XGBoost or TensorFlow
• Knowledge of model evaluation, feature selection and drift handling
• Productionizing models with engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Investigate large datasets to identify fraud patterns and signals
• Develop and validate ML models for fraud detection across accounts and identity risk
• Write clean, tested Python and PySpark code and collaborate with teams
• Evaluate models using ROC/AUC, KS, Gini and related metrics
• Monitor feature quality and model drift, present analyses and tradeoffs
• Follow data privacy, explainability, and governance standards
