Job summary

Mission.dev is seeking its first dedicated security hire to own the organization’s security posture across the full tech stack. You will partner with engineering to embed security early in the product lifecycle and drive foundational security programs in a high-autonomy environment.

Reporting to a co-founder, you will shape product security, corporate security, and early security team growth, with potential to lead the function as the company scales and pursue SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of security engineering experience with a strong software foundation.
• Proficient in Go, shipping production-grade code.
• Proven track record in application/product security, including code reviews and remediation.
• Experience building security detections and managing incident response processes.
• Proficiency in Python and detection-as-code tools or SIEM platforms.
• Experience implementing frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage end-to-end security posture embedded within engineering workflows from design to deployment.
• Architect and build foundational security infrastructure (secrets management, PKI, audit logging, vulnerability management).
• Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and secure design consultations for rapid product development.
• Lead global compliance initiatives (SOC 2, ISO 27001) with functional engineering controls.
• Develop incident response processes and detection-as-code capabilities for automation.
• Oversee product, corporate security, and early-stage security team growth strategies.
