Job summary

Merieux NutriSciences is seeking a Remote Contract Auditor in the USA to conduct supplier evaluations at manufacturing, distribution, or delivery points. You will perform audits for GMP/Food Safety and GFSI schemes, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely reporting.

The role requires a BS in a food-related field, 5+ years in the food industry, strong audit skills, and the ability to travel up to 80% across the US. Excellent writing and organizational abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in food science, microbiology, or related field required.
• At least 5 years of work experience in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food science and quality assurance for auditing.
• Experience with multiple food processing operations.
• Broad knowledge of GMPs, food safety principles, HACCP and regulations.
• Auditing experience in food plants must.
• Lead auditor training and related courses preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and handle diverse audit situations.
• Strong writing skills for audit reports and non-conformities.
• Schedule adherence and timely report submission.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of GMP/Food Safety Systems and GFSI schemes (BRC, FSSC22000, SQF, IFS, GLOBALG.A.P.).
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to procedures by Merieux NutriSciences and clients.
• Maintain professional development for audit proficiency.
• Ensure audit reports are accurate, well-written, and submitted on time.
• Follow protocols, schedule work, and manage costs.
• Communicate reports and related information promptly.
• Maintain auditing equipment in working order.
• Organize documents and standards for audits.
• Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Uphold ethical conduct and Code of Conduct.
