Job summary

Coinbase invites a PhD candidate to join the Machine Learning internship for summer 2027. You will develop, deploy, and operate ML models and pipelines at production scale, delivering a research-to-production project in a crypto context.

You will work with senior engineers and product teams to apply ML to security, personalization, and new crypto use cases, presenting findings to stakeholders at the internship end.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Ph.D. with published or in-progress ML research.
• Proficient in building/training models with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience applying ML techniques to structured or unstructured data.
• Familiar with software engineering fundamentals and production-quality Python code.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and operate ML models and pipelines at production scale.
• Drive end-to-end research projects applying modern ML to business problems.
• Partner with senior engineers and product teams to identify ML applications for crypto use cases.
• Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
