Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Internal Audit Intern for a 12-week summer program in 2027. You'll join the Internal Audit team and gain hands-on experience across IT, SOX, or FCC, supporting planning through reporting and exploring AI-enabled audit techniques.

You will own audit work end-to-end, build precise workpapers, analyze datasets with SQL or analytics tools, map processes to control narratives, and apply professional skepticism to identify gaps and strengthen governance.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BA/BS in accounting, finance, data analytics, or risk management with exposure to internal controls or audit concepts through academic or project experience.
• Experience with SQL or data analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned audit work end-to-end with guidance from the Internal Audit team and present observations to leadership.
• Build detailed workpapers describing testing results and conclusions.
• Analyze datasets using SQL or analytics tools to test control populations and identify exceptions.
• Apply professional skepticism to evaluate evidence and identify control gaps.
• Map business processes into structured workflows and control narratives with process owners.
• Explore how AI and emerging technologies can enhance audit processes.
