Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Finance division seeks a Financial Data Management Analyst to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. You will analyze Excel workbooks, build cross-database queries, and support system migrations with a focus on accuracy and scalability.

In this remote-friendly role, you may work from anywhere in the U.S., with in-office presence required for Minneapolis area at least four days per week. Strong communication and ownership are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of finance, accounting, computer science or data analytics.
• Experience with financial systems infrastructure, system implementation and on-going support.
• Intermediate proficiency in SQL.
• Proven ability to solve complex issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Excel workbooks with financial data.
• Construct queries with filtering and cross-database joins.
• Communicate barriers/issues to senior management.
• Suggest analytics-based changes to senior leadership.
• Develop integrated analyses and projections for strategic decisions.
• Create informative reporting highlighting trends and opportunities.
• Understand financial and operational impact of changes.
• Improve systems using SQL/SSIS/Python.
• Backfill for existing projects/workflows.
• Stored Procedure analysis and development.
