Job summary

Evergreen Start is seeking a Finance and Operations Director to build the financial, people, and operational infrastructure for growth. You will oversee accounting, HR, and shared services across multiple funding streams and fiscal sponsorships.

The role reports to the Executive Director and partners with the Board to ensure financially sound, well-governed, scalable operations in a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading nonprofit financial management, accounting, or operations.
• Strong knowledge of grants management, restricted funds, and compliance.
• Experience overseeing payroll, benefits, and HR compliance.
• Demonstrated experience implementing or managing technology systems for finance and HR.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and reporting.
• Oversee grants/contracts financial management, tracking, invoicing and reporting.
• Coordinate audits and funder monitoring processes.
• Administer fiscal sponsorships and shared financial services.
