Nathan Cummings Foundation is seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting (DFA), a senior finance officer who will oversee the Foundation’s financial operations. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Mission Investing, the DFA will lead audits, tax activities, budgeting, and financial planning for a $450 million multi-asset class portfolio and a $22 million PRI initiative.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and/or CPA or MBA preferred.
• Proven experience as a Finance or Accounting Director or in a senior finance role.
• Strong expertise in coordinating and supervising audits, overseeing tax activities to ensure compliance, and knowledge of GAAP.
• Proven ability to lead internal controls, guidelines, and systems for effective monitoring and reporting.
• Extensive experience in strategic financial leadership and policy implementation.
• Demonstrated commitment to philanthropy, REEJ and social justice within governance.

• Provide financial leadership and oversee accounting operations and audits.
• Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies.
• Coordinate tax planning, including federal/state returns and payroll tax issues.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Present financial recommendations to management and leadership.
• Lead monthly close processes and financial systems integration.
• Mentor finance staff and foster cross‑department collaboration.
• Drive strategic financial initiatives for a $450M portfolio and $22M PRI.
