Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking a Field Service Technician to service customer truck-mounted equipment in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role drives field repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting with independent judgment.

Position requires English fluency, a CDL (or willingness to obtain within 60 days), and ability to lift 75 lbs. Tools are customer-owned or PALFINGER-provided as noted, with a remote field assignment reporting to the Regional Field Service Manager.

Qualifications

• 3 years of mechanical experience or training with cranes or forklifts.
• Must speak, read and write English.
• Must have a valid CDL or obtain one within 60 days.
• Supply your own tools; PALFINGER tools are provided.
• Able to lift 75 lbs+ and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and troubleshooting of crane and lifting equipment.
• Conduct quarterly preventive maintenance and annual DOT inspections.
• Provide emergency/unplanned repairs during and outside normal hours.
• Communicate issues and required repairs to site and fleet managers.
• Maintain service documentation including estimates, work orders and inventory.
• Follow state and federal safety regulations.
• Keep vehicle and job-site equipment clean and organized.
