Job summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced claims adjuster in the New York area to inspect damage, estimate repair costs, and negotiate settlements on multi-line physical damage claims. You will work in repair shops, salvage yards, customers' homes, or a virtual estimating environment, providing exceptional customer service as a GEICO ambassador.

Applicants must reside in New York City, hold a valid driver's license, and be capable of maintaining required state and federal certifications.

Qualifications

• Must reside in New York City, NY.
• Valid driver’s license meeting underwriting guidelines.
• Ability to maintain applicable state and federal certifications and permits.
• Willingness to be flexible with primary work location, including remote or field work.
• College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• GEICO will not sponsor employment authorization at this time.
• Solid computer skills; mechanical aptitude; multi-tasking and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Inspect damage for boat, motorcycle, RV, and other specialty claims.
• Estimate repair costs and negotiate settlements.
• Issue payments and provide excellent customer service as a GEICO ambassador.
• Work in repair shops, salvage yards, customers' homes, or a virtual estimating environment.
• Service multi-line physical damage claims.
• Complete required hands-on training at the Ashburn, VA facility.
• Assist customers after accidents or major disasters.
