Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join its client service delivery team. This 100% remote, full-time role partners with federal stakeholders to analyze financial data, improve processes, and drive data-driven decision making using BI tools.

You will work with designers, developers and budget SMEs to build and roll out the BAS solution on SAC, employing your knowledge of federal budgeting and planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, or related areas.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data with government stakeholders.
• Improve business processes and reporting through data-driven insights.
• Support strategic decision-making through data-driven solutions.
• Document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions with stakeholders.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency.
• Review policies, data structures, and procedures for impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI and analytics tools to maximize data value.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions to improve performance.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases.
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
