Job summary

SMX seeks a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team, focused on the BAS solution for federal budgeting and planning. This 100% remote role involves partnering with government stakeholders to translate financial data into actionable insights and support strategic decisions.

You will analyze processes, document requirements, and help implement enhancements across BI, reporting, and planning components, with limited travel and a Public Trust clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis or management, data analytics and reporting, management or technology consulting, or operations analysis/strategic planning.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations and priorities.
• Analyze and document processes, workflows and requirements.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures for impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI/analytics tools to maximize data value.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions for better reporting and finance.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC and testing.
• Develop test plans and business use cases.
