Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking an EV Charging Infrastructure Engineer (1099) for public-sector charging studies and site design reviews. You will analyze electrical capacity, charger siting, make-ready needs, and interconnection constraints to enable reliable Level 2 and DC fast charging for agencies.

This remote-first role involves occasional client travel as needed, with scope confirmation of schedule and fees before engagements begin.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or reviewing EV charging electrical infrastructure for agencies or commercial sites.
• Knowledge of Level 2 and DC fast charging, load calculations, and utility make-ready requirements.
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams and produce engineer-ready findings for agencies.

Responsibilities

• Review site electrical capacity and charger loads.
• Produce or review EVSE layouts, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and make-ready scopes.
• Coordinate utility service planning, interconnection applications, and meter or rate options.
• Advise on Level 2 and DCFC hardware selection, power sharing, and code compliance (NEC, AHJ).
• Support cost estimates for electrical upgrades, trenching, and charger installation packages.
• Flag constructability, safety, and accessibility issues before bidding or awarding work.
• Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when authorized.
