Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Junior Data Engineer with ETL development and geospatial data experience to support the data engineering workstream on a federal migration program. You will develop and deploy ETL pipelines, execute data ingestion workflows, and support spatial data validation in a cloud data lakehouse environment.

This is a fully remote position. The Department of the Interior (DOI) and agencies leverage your skills to build integrated ESA datasets, working with Python/SQL and Databricks,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with related experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Hands-on Databricks/Delta Live Tables experience.
• Proficiency in Python or SQL for ETL development.
• Experience with geospatial formats and CRS.
• Experience documenting test/ingest results and defects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy ETL pipelines using Databricks Delta Live Tables.
• Execute range data aggregation and normalization from multiple sources.
• Implement source-to-target transformation with mapping and null-handling.
• Prototype data ingestion workflows and assess data quality criteria.
• Document ingestion results, defects, and remediation actions.
• Maintain ETL code in a version-controlled repository with peer reviews.
• Support spatial data validation with GIS Engineers.
• Assist interoperability testing with test datasets and validation.
