Alignerr is seeking a skilled Environmental Engineer to join as an AI Data Trainer. You will craft advanced environmental scenarios, write ground-truth solutions, and audit AI outputs to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This remote, hourly contract offers flexible hours (10–40 per week) and the chance to influence how AI models understand environmental engineering challenges while staying in your field.

Qualifications

• Holds or is pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (environmental focus), or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge in aquatic chemistry, wastewater design, air quality engineering, hazardous waste remediation, or environmental compliance.
• Precise and detail-oriented; catches unit conversion errors and regulatory inconsistencies.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex engineering concepts in writing.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently on technical tasks.
• No prior AI experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging environmental scenarios: contaminants transport, mass balance, hydrology, dispersion, LCA.
• Author expert‑level solutions: step-by-step calculations and models for AI training.
• Audit AI outputs for technical accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance (EPA, ISO 14001).
• Sharpen AI reasoning by identifying errors and giving structured feedback.
• Work independently on task-based assignments, asynchronously.
