Job summary

Cullerton Group is seeking a Solutions Architect 3 to lead end-to-end architecture for complex enterprise and AI-focused solutions, balancing scalability, performance, security, reliability, and rapid delivery. You will partner with business leaders, product owners, engineering teams, and other architects to translate requirements into scalable designs.

This 12-month remote role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, with travel up to 25% to Chicago or Peoria.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in solutions/platform architecture.
• Strong architectural thinking and ability to communicate trade-offs.
• Proven technical leadership guiding engineering teams in architecture and implementation.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable designs.
• Solid foundation in modern application and platform architecture.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale distributed systems and cloud architectures.
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automated testing.
• Strong programming background in Python and Java.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Snowflake, data modeling, replication, and sharding.
• API architecture/design with REST, GraphQL, and/or gRPC.
• Experience with vector databases/search layers and similarity search.

Responsibilities

• Own and define solution and platform architectures for large-scale systems.
• Design solutions for scalability, performance, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with leaders, product owners, engineering managers, and delivery teams to align architecture with goals.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies through proofs of concept and prototypes.
• Establish architecture standards and provide mentorship to engineering teams.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation of decisions and trade-offs.
• Support evolution of platform architecture to improve reliability and developer productivity.
