Job summary

Gifthealth is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software across 3-5 engineering teams within their pillar. You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality, secure systems that support the mission to improve healthcare access.

The role blends hands-on engineering with people leadership, driving execution, and fostering a strong engineering culture in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field OR equivalent professional experience.
• 5-10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading technical projects, multiple engineering teams, or pillar-level organizations.
• Experience leading teams using Agile or similar delivery methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Prior experience managing or formally leading engineers and engineering managers (preferred).
• Experience in healthcare technology or high-growth startups (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Leads design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Provides technical leadership, code reviews, and architectural guidance across the engineering teams within their pillar.
• Manages, mentors, and supports 3-5 engineering teams within their pillar, including performance feedback and career development.
• Collaborates with product, design, operations, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Oversees system reliability, performance monitoring, testing strategies, and production support across their pillar.
• Contributes to documentation, development standards, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
