Winland Foods seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the manufacturing engineering strategy for 11 pasta/dry dinners facilities. Remote with travel, relocate as needed, supervising engineers and collaborating across Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to optimize safety, cost per pound, service, and quality.

The role emphasizes talent development, capital investments, and process excellence, with travel up to 75% and a focus on data-driven improvements and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related).
• 10+ years manufacturing engineering, multi-site experience.
• Proven capital planning & project management track record.
• Demonstrated leadership building high-performing teams.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across plant networks.
• Knowledge of GMPs/regulatory requirements (OSHA/EPA/FDA).
• Proficiency with MS 365 and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute engineering strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Advance continuous improvement to reduce cost per pound and boost productivity.
• Standardize processes and best practices across sites.
• Lead capital planning, capacity upgrades, and technology investments.
• Develop and manage a 5-year CAPEX plan for pasta plant network.
• Lead projects from ideation to validation with capital approvals.
• Develop business case scopes and cost estimates.
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
• Ensure safety and food safety are non-negotiable priorities.
