Job summary

State of New York - Health, Department of in Albany, NY, is seeking an Analytics and Research Unit Assistant (Data Analyst 1) to perform professional data analysis, develop analysis-ready datasets, and create dashboards and maps for program management and public health initiatives.

You will work under supervision with data stewards and IT staff on data standards, visualization, and reporting, with a 9-to-5 schedule, occasional telecommuting, and a permanent, full-time appointment in the Division

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in data visualization and statistical models.
• Experience with data mining tools.
• Substitution: associate's or bachelor's degree may substitute for general experience; master's may substitute for one year.

Responsibilities

• Translate analytical questions into data requirements and extraction specs.
• Develop analysis-ready datasets and reports, dashboards, and maps.
• Collaborate with program experts and IT staff to ensure data quality.
• Coordinate analytical projects and document methods and limitations.
