Job summary

Ogletree Deakins, a leading labor and employment law firm, seeks an experienced litigator for a flexible, full‑cycle defense role. Open to remote work for a California‑licensed attorney, with occasional in‑person needs depending on matters.

You will defend employers in employment litigation, build defense strategies, perform research, draft pleadings, manage discovery and motions, and handle depositions or hearings as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Excellent analytical and writing skills with strong organizational ability.
• Self-motivated, highly responsive and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated collaboration with attorneys, staff and clients; strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in employment litigation and develop defense strategy.
• Perform legal research, draft pleadings, and manage discovery and motions.
• Draft dispositive motions and coordinate depositions or hearings when needed.
• May participate in mediation, trial, or other in-person aspects as required.
• Collaborate with client teams while maintaining high self-motivation and responsiveness.
