Bluelight Consulting is seeking a skilled backend engineer to join our rapidly growing software consultancy. You will design, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Elixir and the Phoenix framework, collaborating with product managers and designers across client projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong Elixir and Phoenix framework expertise.
• Experience with OTP, concurrent and distributed systems.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and GraphQL; familiar with PostgreSQL (Ecto).
• Solid problem-solving, collaboration, and communication in an agile team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs in Elixir/Phoenix.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements.
• Own features from conception to launch, including technical specs and releases.
• Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews to ensure quality.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Stay current with Elixir ecosystem to drive innovation.
