Job summary

Geosyntec is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our structural team in the Baton Rouge area, supporting hydraulic and marine projects across multiple offices including New Orleans, Houston, Atlanta, and more.

You will design and evaluate hydraulic control structures, piers, wharves, and related waterfront infrastructure, collaborating with industry leaders while progressing toward PE licensure. Hybrid/remote options available at management's discretion.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering focus is required.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) is preferred.
Professional P.E. registration is preferred.
Minimum 5 years (7+ preferred) of relevant design experience in a consulting environment.
Experience in the design and detailing of steel connections and reinforced concrete.
Ability to obtain NCEES 16-Hour Structural Engineering exam within two years.

Responsibilities

Perform analysis, design, and detailing of steel and reinforced structures.
Model and design hydraulic, geotechnical, coastal, and marine loading scenarios.
Design work platforms, piers, and hydraulic control structures.
Prepare technical documents including reports and calculation packages.
Coordinate with CAD team for contract plans and construction documents.
Support project proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
