Job summary

Farmers Business Network, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Staff Pharmacist to join the Direct pharmacy team in processing orders for our mail order livestock pharmacy. The pharmacist will supervise technicians and support staff and verify the accuracy of prescriptions.

The pharmacy does not dispense controlled substances or perform any compounding. This position will be for coverage for PTO, off site meetings etc. No guaranteed # of hours.

Qualifications

• Licensed Iowa pharmacist in good standing.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask.
• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Good people skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pharmacy related tasks performed by pharmacist-interns, technicians, pharmacy support persons and other pharmacy employees.
• Maintain compliance with laws governing dispensing for food-producing animals.
• Communicate with veterinary clinics for prescription outreach, and assist with prescription data entry if needed.
• Answer drug therapy related questions from clients and account representatives.
• Assist with order entry and order fulfillment (pick/pack/ship) within pharmacy and warehouse management systems.
• Review and interpret veterinarian orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities where applicable.
