Job summary

Manatee County Government, Work That Matters is seeking an Assistant County Attorney to join the County Attorney’s Office in Bradenton, Florida. The role involves advising the Board of County Commissioners, drafting ordinances and contracts, and litigating matters across state and federal forums.

Qualified candidates will hold a Juris Doctor, be a Florida Bar member in good standing, and have experience in government, administrative law, and related practice areas.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Active Florida Bar member in good standing.
• Experience in government, litigation, contracts, or related practice areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Render legal services to the Board of County Commissioners and officials.
• Draft ordinances, resolutions, leases, licenses, and contracts.
• Litigate cases before state or federal courts and manage discovery and pleadings.
• Supervise paralegals, legal assistants, and interns; coordinate with outside counsel.
