Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. in Westborough, MA is hiring an Electrical Engineering Manager for the Hardware Development Team.

You will lead architecture and electrical system design for battery energy storage products, collaborating with Product Management, Sales, and customers to define specifications. You will manage schedules, drive development from concept to production, and ensure test plans and documentation meet standards.

Qualifications

• This position requires strong knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics.
• Proficient in AC voltage theory, including three phase transformers, and overcurrent protection.
• Solid knowledge of NEC and ability to read electrical schematics.
• Able to create system level architectures and wiring diagrams.
• Experience taking products from concept to production.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
• Experience with battery storage and electrical power equipment.
• Experience with evaluating 3rd party equipment.
• Power equipment design involving power supplies and/or inverters.
• Control and communications equipment with supporting I/O circuits.
• Experience selecting and integrating electrical components.
• Proficient in DC components and circuits, and CAD wiring diagrams.
• Solid electro-mechanical system expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own Architecture and Electrical System Design principles for BESS products.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and Customers to gather requirements.
• Work with Project Management to maintain new product development schedules; identify risks.
• Ensure design, prototypes, testing, and documentation meet guidelines and stakeholder expectations.
• Develop test specifications and plans for design verification.
• Support testing to mandated standards and project requirements.
• Provide meaningful end-user documentation content.
• Co-develop product concepts with cross-functional groups.
• Be the Electrical Team contact for other departments; advise on electrical topics.
• Interface with suppliers and contract design/manufacturing partners.
• Provide leadership and staffing for the Electrical Engineering team.
• Establish department KPIs and performance management.
