Job summary

Stride, Inc. is hiring an EL Coordinator for the AZ Virtual Academy (AZVA) to oversee state compliance of the English Language Program and provide PD, support, and guidance to K12AZ staff.

The role involves supervising EL Teachers, conducting observations, and ensuring progress toward goals, with remote work and periodic travel for state testing and events. Requires AZ SEI endorsement and Arizona residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree AND
• Active state teaching license AND
• Ability to clear required background check
• Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions
• Willingness to receive coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and teaching platforms
• Maintain teacher certification / professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems / programs

• Provides rich synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
• Personalizes learning for all students
• Demonstrates belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations
• Differentiates instruction based on student mastery
• Augments course content according to policies using appropriate tools
• Maintains grade book and monitors student performance
• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized tests
• Communicates with families and learning coaches regularly
• Supports learning coaches with curricular issues and basic tech troubleshooting
• Travel up to ~20% for PDs and testing
