Job summary

ThermoSafe is seeking a Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to lead safety programs across US plants and support environmental reporting initiatives. The role requires hands-on leadership, audits, risk assessments, and training to drive a proactive safety culture.

Travel up to 50-70% to plants, partner with Corporate Sustainability, develop policies, and ensure OSHA/ANSI compliance. Strong communication and reporting skills are essential for executive updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in safety management, such as CSP or CIH, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management role with Manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and motivate teams to achieve safety objectives.
  • Proficiency with safety management software, reporting tools, and related systems.
  • Experience in Environmental programs, although the role requires a strong safety bias.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to all ThermoSafe US plant locations, travel up to 50-70% of the time as needed.
  • Support Corporate Sustainability Manager in ensuring plant compliance with Environmental reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements with local, state, and federal safety regulations and applicable industry standards.
  • Lead safety training programs for employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management to develop safety goals, objectives, and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, training, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
  • Stay current with industry’s best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging environmental & safety trends.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety through communication, employee engagement, and visible leadership.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
