Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Insight seeks an EHR Interface Engineer to support, develop, and implement interfaces to/from EMRs such as Epic and Oracle Health with third-party apps and other EMRs.

You’ll work with Epic, Cerner, and interface engines across the U.S., with remote flexibility but in-office four days a week for Minneapolis or DC-area hires. Strong collaboration and leadership are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Interface engineering/development experience.
• 2+ years of integration experience with an EMR such as Epic or Oracle Health.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manage changes to specifications.
• Prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; review and test each new release; troubleshoot end users’ questions.
• Design and develop clinical and business interfaces in Epic and/or Cerner EMRs with scalability and project constraints in mind.
• Provide technical guidance on small to medium efforts within scope with limited supervision.
• Develop, support, and maintain system design and build documents and other documentation.
• Create detailed testing scripts for various testing phases.
• Perform daily monitoring of interfaces in production.
• Adhere to organization standards for configuration and change control.
• Troubleshoot and resolve interface issues and escalate complex issues.
