Job summary

Ajaia is an AI implementation consultancy and product studio building EdTech software that educators and students will actually use. You will lead the technical design of learning platforms, mentor a small team, and write code across frontend, backend, and data layers.

In this role you’ll integrate with school systems, implement AI-driven tutoring and insights, and ensure security, accessibility, and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with leadership or mentoring
• Hands-on EdTech product experience (LMS, tutoring apps, etc.)
• Strong skills in React/Next.js and Node.js or Python
• Experience with cloud hosting, databases, and APIs
• Hands-on AI features with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Daily use of AI coding tools and good judgment on outputs
• Knowledge of education standards (LTI, SCORM, xAPI) and student data privacy
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design of learning platforms and tools
• Review code, set standards, and mentor developers
• Build and ship features end to end (frontend, backend, data)
• Integrate with LMS, SIS, and single sign-on systems
• Add AI features like tutoring, content generation, and insights
• Use AI tools daily and guide the team to do the same
• Set rules for safe AI use with student data
• Ensure product security, performance, and accessibility
• Collaborate with product and design to create release plans
