Job summary

lplsolarllc seeks a Drone Pilot / Surveyor to collect aerial data across large solar EPC projects. This role uses UAS tech, mapping software, and survey instruments to support estimating, design, and construction tracking.

You will document progress, verify earthwork, and produce deliverables that integrate with IFC drawings and design surfaces. The ideal candidate has FAA Part 107 certification and hands-on experience with photogrammetry, GNSS, and field data management.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Experience operating drones/UAS for surveying, mapping, engineering or construction.
• Strong surveying knowledge: coordinates, elevations, benchmarks, and construction layout.
• Experience with aerial imagery for photogrammetry and mapping.
• Proficient with GPS/GNSS and RTK equipment.
• Ability to read civil plans and site layouts with accuracy.
• Excellent data-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct UAS flight ops on utility-scale sites per FAA rules.
• Collect high-res imagery and survey data for mapping and documentation.
• Produce Ortho mosaics, DTMs/DSMs, point clouds for projects.
• Support surveying with GPS/GNSS, RTK, and total stations.
• Maintain survey control and project records throughout construction.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, and field staff to define data needs.
• Ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence during flights.
• Travel between active sites as project needs dictate.
