Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Disability Clinical Specialist to perform standard clinical evaluations on claims requiring additional review based on medical condition, client requirements, and/or complexity. The role involves consulting with providers and employees to ensure medical information substantiates the need for employee absence from work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; licensure as required in jurisdiction
• Four years of related medical/psych/industrial medicine experience
• Strong knowledge of health care practices and medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Performs standard clinical reviews of referred medical claims based on client requirements.
• Completes medical review of all claims by reviewing medical documentation and applying clinical knowledge.
• Communicates clearly with employees and providers regarding clinical status and work status.
• Provides follow-up recommendations for ongoing medical management of claims.
• Acts as clinical resource to claims examiners for medical management guidance.
• Travel as required.
