Responsibilities

• Review short term disability claims and determine benefit approval, denial, or further review.
• Approve payments within authority and guidelines.
• Assess duration guidelines and clinical/vocational recommendations.
• Complete strategy assessments and ensure timely adjudication.
• Interpret policy provisions and apply standard claims practices.
• Obtain documentation to substantiate claims.
• Communicate with claimants, employers, physicians, and others by phone or other methods.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records.
• Support other claims staff and assist on special projects.
• Collaborate with team while working independently.
• Meet deadlines with accuracy.
