Job summary

Ncagr's North Carolina Forest Service seeks an experienced Information & Education Branch Head to lead information, education, and outreach efforts across media, campaigns, and public engagement.

The role requires writing and editing for publication, strategic communication planning, and supervision of a small team, with telework options and a focus on statewide forestry education and outreach.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing public relations strategies.
• Knowledge of principles and techniques for effectively disseminating information to the public through various media.
• Ability to write according to accepted publication standards, edit and analyze documents and information prepared by others.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of the communications media, public, forest industry, and other agencies.
• Experience supervising and directing the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee information and education campaigns for the NC Forest Service.
• Lead media and public relations efforts to increase awareness of NCFS mission and programs.
• Provide budgetary planning and monitoring for information and education initiatives.
