Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking a Director, Commercial Lines to lead national Commercial Lines operations, focused on standardizing workflows, driving efficiency, and enabling growth. You will partner with regional leadership to optimize client service, scale operations, and support M&A integration while maintaining high professional standards.

The role requires an active P&C license and 5–7+ years in operational leadership within a large brokerage or agency, with CPCU/CIC designation

Qualifications

  • Active Property & Casualty license is required.
  • CPCU and/or CIC designation (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of Commercial Lines operational leadership experience within a large insurance brokerage or agency.
  • Strong expertise in Commercial P&C agency operations, workflows, servicing models, and process optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience with workflow standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable process improvements.
  • Strong workforce planning, capacity modeling, and resource management experience.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and operational integration initiatives.
  • Applied EPIC experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders and drive results in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute initiatives that strengthen Commercial Lines operations, service delivery, and organizational performance.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement scalable solutions that improve efficiency, quality, consistency, and client outcomes.
  • Establish and promote standardized Commercial Lines workflows, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity and reducing variation.
  • Evaluate operational issues, identify underlying causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze staffing models, workload distribution, and service demands to develop capacity plans.
  • Partner with operational and Managed Services teams to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Serve as a national Commercial P&C subject matter expert, advising on workflows and systems.
  • Support M&A integration through operational assessments and workflow alignment.
  • Build partnerships with producers and leadership to drive adoption of strategic initiatives.
  • Promote optimization of EPIC, reporting tools, and technology platforms.
  • Utilize performance metrics and BI to drive improvements.
  • Lead change management for new processes and practices.
  • Maintain advanced industry and leadership expertise through ongoing development.
