Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Optics or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in photonics, PIC design, or optical communications.
• Hands-on experience across PIC design, layout, testing, packaging, integration.
• Experience with optical simulation, modeling and photonic design flows.
• Experience with optical design tools such as CODE V, Zemax, LightTools, MATLAB, Python.
• Experience designing photonic components such as waveguides, modulators, couplers, reflectors, optical I/O systems.
• Experience generating inventions, patents, or innovative technology concepts in photonics.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate technologies and develop new concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own the Co-Packaged Optics Technology Roadmap and strategy.
• Drive component and architecture innovations for co-packaged optics and silicon photonics.
• Lead architecture development across PICs, silicon photonics, packaging, and optical interconnects.
• Advance emerging technologies through modeling, prototyping, and validation.
• Lead invention activities and build foundational patent portfolios.
• Develop strategic industry partnerships to accelerate photonics development.
• Represent Adeia as a technical authority in customer engagements and forums.
• Influence technology strategy and priorities across Discovery, R&D, IP, and Product Engineering.
