Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Analytical Development to join a growing pharmaceutical organization supporting a high-visibility development program. The Director will lead analytical and CMC strategy, manage external partners, and drive cross-functional execution in a fast-paced environment.

The role is a direct placement with remote work in the United States and up to 30% travel. Candidates should have 7+ years of pharma/biotech Analytical Development and a strong record in method

Qualifications

• Strong communication and leadership abilities with a track record of stakeholder management.
• Experience leading high-visibility, cross-functional development programs.
• Proven ability to manage CROs, vendors, and external laboratories.
• Background in analytical method development, characterization, and validation.
• Understanding of formulation development and broader CMC activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical development activities for a key pharmaceutical development program.
• Represent CMC/Analytical Development on cross-functional project teams.
• Develop and execute analytical strategies supporting formulation, clinical, and regulatory goals.
• Manage CROs, contract laboratories, and external development partners.
• Drive technical decision-making and program execution under aggressive timelines.
• Partner with formulation, clinical, regulatory, and project management stakeholders.
• Identify and implement solutions to complex development challenges.
• Establish processes and structure within a dynamic development environment.
