Job summary

ARIVE is seeking a Director of Product – AI Underwriting to own the correctness of ARIVE AI underwriting rules and Pre‑Underwrite outputs. This role blends underwriting expertise with hands‑on AI fluency, reviewing prompts, shaping evaluation criteria, and guiding agent behavior while collaborating with engineers.

You will travel approximately 20% to our San Ramon office and customer sites, working remotely with Pacific Time hours and reporting to executive leadership and the Head of Product as

Qualifications

• Must have deep underwriting analysis spanning income, asset, credit, and collateral disciplines.
• 10+ years in mortgage underwriting and/or agency credit policy.
• Mastery of agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA).
• Wholesale/TPO or correspondent lending background preferred.
• Working knowledge of AI/LLM platforms and review of prompts and agent behavior.
• Willingness to travel ~20% to San Ramon and lender/agency partners.

Responsibilities

• Review, test, and verify ARIVE AI Underwriting Rules against guidelines; approve rules before release and re‑verify as guidelines change.
• Validate rule accuracy with lenders and agencies; maintain lender-specific rule sets.
• Own Pre‑Underwrite outputs end to end: audit findings, checklists, and conditions; drive root‑cause fixes.
