Job summary

At BairesDev, we are seeking a Software Engineer specialized in Chef and Puppet to join our global remote team. You will design, implement, and maintain automated configuration management, scale infrastructure, and ensure consistent state across environments.

You will work with Ruby for scripting, contribute to CI/CD workflows, and collaborate with DevOps teams to drive reliable, scalable deployments. English proficiency required; remote role with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or Configuration Management.
• Proven expertise in managing and scaling infrastructure using Chef or Puppet.
• Proficiency in Ruby for developing automated server management scripts.
• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and configuration management at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated configuration management scripts using Chef cookbooks or Puppet manifests.
• Manage large-scale server fleets by ensuring consistent state and configuration across environments.
• Utilize Ruby and DSLs to create modular infrastructure code.
• Automate installation, configuration, and orchestration of OS and application stacks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex configuration issues within the infrastructure automation pipeline.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate configuration management into CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
