Job summary

ClearCaptions, LLC is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a scalable, secure cloud environment primarily in AWS. You will manage infrastructure as code, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and support containerized microservices across development, QA, and operations teams.

You will also support VoIP/telephony, real-time messaging, and participate in on-call rotations, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of DevOps experience with cloud infrastructure, automation, and complex environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting.
• Experience with Chef or Ansible.
• Understanding of CI/CD tools and Bitbucket.
• Terraform IaC experience.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Managing RDS and NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Couchbase).
• VoIP infra including Asterisk, Kamailio, RTPEngine.
• SIP knowledge and VoIP tech familiarity.
• Monitoring/observability with Datadog, Netscout, ELK.
• Messaging/streaming with Apache Kafka.
• Security best practices and vulnerability management.
• Strong communication, time management, and collaboration.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Proficiency with MS Office and virtual collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and maintains cloud infrastructure on AWS, focusing on networking, security, and cost efficiency.
• Builds and manages CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
• Develops infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Manages containerized applications using Docker and supports Kubernetes-based deployments for microservices-based architectures.
• Oversees the management and optimization of RDS and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Couchbase.
• Supports telephony infrastructure with Asterisk, Kamailio, and RTPEngine.
• Implements and maintains messaging/streaming with Apache Kafka for real-time data processing.
• Enhances monitoring with Datadog, Netscout, ELK; improves alerting with OpsGenie and Slack integration.
• Collaborates with development, QA, and operations to streamline deployments and reliability.
• Diagnoses issues, identifies root causes, and ensures performance optimization.
• Participates in on-call rotations and adapts hours to support global teams.
