Job summary

Candid is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Data Science team. This generalist applied-science role focuses on data quality at scale, production-model evaluation, and prototyping new data products.

You’ll work with engineers, analysts, PMs, and domain experts, often embedded with product teams, and contribute across the data lifecycle. The role offers remote work with occasional NYC-area travel for quarterly leadership meetings and annual summits, with compensation in the NYC range and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Apply ML across data problems: detection, classification, entity resolution and matching evaluation, anomaly detection, embeddings and semantic search, and feature engineering.
• Measure model performance on production data and detect drift and degradation.
• Apply ML to data quality: identify large-scale errors missed by queries and manual review, and route fixes.
• Translate open-ended questions into prototypes and clear recommendations, ruling out ideas when not worth pursuing.
• Build tooling and dashboards (e.g., semantic search, Streamlit dashboards) to help analysts and stewards.
• Collaborate with product or data teams, engineers, analysts, PMs, and subject-matter experts.
• Take on additional ML and data-science projects as priorities shift.
